Jerry's great smile and laugh and patient explanation of a technical solution will not be forgotten by those of us who had the pleasure to work with him at IBM. He was such a great wealth of knowledge and a great problem solver -- I will always remember him as the 'great1'. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

Gerry and I were friends from birth through life. He was truly the Great1. From Mrs. Cooper's kindergarten and beyond his humor and caring for the feeling of others was always his expressed value. "Respect of others" was his guiding light along with the love for his family. We all will miss him. He was one of a kind.
I am so glad that I knew Gerry and Vickie and they are forever in my thoughts and prayers. M H

Jerry was the best. I worked with him at the Southbury site and he was "the last resort". You didn't bring him the simple problems, you worked with others on those. However, when you found the tough problems, the unsolvable problems, the urgent and critical problems and every other solution failed, then you turned to Jerry. He wouldn't always give you the answer straight up, he made you work for it, made you be part of the solution and that made me a better problem solver. He was the Great1! The world is a little less great because he is gone.

I am so sad to hear the news. Jerry was a nice man who helped me at IBM learn the technical side of the business. He had a wonderful sense of humor and just loved what he did. After he retired I would see him around town once in awhile and he was always happy to see me. My sincere condolences to the family. I know he will be so missed. Hold on to your wonderful memories of him. A wonderful man...and like his userid at IBM...the greatone!!

I knew Jerry (and Vickie) as a result of my relationship with one of his 3 M&M’s, Meredith. I know Jerry was loved very much by each member of his family, many friends and colleagues. His 3 grandchildren love their Pop Pop
with all their hearts. His youngest grandchild John John will miss him greatly and as he plays chess through the years, I’m sure Pop Pop will proudly be with John John when John John looks up at his opponent and says, “checkmate”.
