My memories of Jim were all great, and I learned a lot from him. I started taking automotive classes at west. community college and was looking for a place to start working on the cars. After finding out about high grade performance shop through a buddy of mine, and after meeting Jim we had instant chemistry. He needed a helper and took me under his wing. What a great spirit he was, and what a great passion he had for sports. I not only learned working around cars with him but he also introduced me to wake boarding. I remember turning him to some bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers to which he became a huge fan. I remember Jim who was full of life, wasn’t scared to do anything at least once. He loved telling good stories with a big grin on his face, but most of all he was a great listener. Intelligent, bright and loved people and life. I moved out of New York and got married some years ago but I always stayed in touch w Jim because I had respect for him and he was like that cool uncle to me. I’m so sorry for your loss, and that his children lost their dad so young. I will sorely miss him, but hopefully we’ll meet again, some day.

Gods speed my friend, may you soar high!

You were an AWESOME human being, doll, and gone WAY too soon from a world where we are SO in need of more people like you. May you rest easy knowing your children will carry on where you left off. God Bless, until we meet again.

I knew James back when we were teenagers in Armonk. He was a kind sweet person and I have many wonderful memories of that time I got to spend with him. I am so sorry to hear of this tragic loss. I haven't been in touch with him over the years but I am not surprised to hear other people talk about the great friend he was to them and the great family man he had been. My sincere condolences to his family and especially to his mother who was always so kind to me and to his brother John.

Jimmy was a sweet soul who, for more than 30 years, graced our lives. His spirit, his kindness, his willingness to always be there when his friends needed him or just to talk about life & the things he loved, was a blessing to all who knew him. We still cannot believe he’s gone. We miss you every day, Jimmy. Godspeed you to heaven & eternal peace. —?Sheila & George

To the Roberts Family,
First let me say how sorry I am for your loss. My name is Michelle Brill. I’ve known James for over 35years. He was our mechanic in Armonk and again in Pawling.
I had a date with James the night he passed. I was the one that found him and tried to get him help. I’m so very sorry that I didn’t get there sooner. Maybe I could have saved him or prevented it from happening. I’m so very sorry. Please forgive me.
James was such a positive, inspirational sweetheart. He was a great support, super helpful and kind beyond compare. He was a blessing and you were blessed to know him and be in his life. All he ever talked about were his children, his mom and his brother. His family meant the world to him, especially his children. James was so very special and will be greatly, greatly missed.
If there’s anything I can do to help you with your loss, please just let me know. Once again, I am truly sorry for the loss of James.
Sincerely
Michelle Brill
