Obituary of Gregory N. Waldmiller

Gregory Norman Waldmiller, affectionately known to many as Wally, age 69, of Brookfield, CT, passed away on March 8, 2024, surrounded by his family after a long hard fought battle with leukemia.

Greg was a dedicated full time police officer of the Brookfield Police Department from 1977 – 2004.  After retiring he remained a member of the Brookfield Police Department as a Special Police Officer until his death.  He also worked at the CT Department of Motor Vehicles from 2004- 2020.  Greg and his wife Barbara started Flags for Brookfield in 2002 to display patriotism for the town of Brookfield after the 9/11 tragedies by lining Route 25 with over 115 American Flags for 18 years, until passing it over to the Brookfield VFW. Greg had a passion for his yard, which was the envy of the neighborhood.

He was predeceased by his parents Cletus and Elizabeth Waldmiller and his brother Joseph Waldmiller.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Barbara Vasaturo Waldmiller and his children Matthew (Jennifer) Waldmiller, Brandon (Ashley) Bryer, Thomas Ford, and Michaela (Trevor) Neumann.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Jaeyce, Brooklyn, Adeline, Leilani and Jada.  He is also survived by his 7 siblings Paul (Sandy) Waldmiller, Donna Hagen, Brian (Jeanne) Waldmiller, Janice Waldmiller, Carol (Chris) Manhard, Debora (Rick) Foehrenbach and Mike Waldmiller, and many nieces and nephews.
