Walter H. Hager, Jr, 74, of Newtown, beloved companion of the late Barbara Machado, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was born in Danbury on February 27, 1949, son of the late Walter H. Sr. and Mary H. (Mrozinski) Hager. He was a graduate of Bethel High School, Class of 1974, and attended the two year program at Henry Abbott Technical School.
Walter worked for many years in sanitation for Winter Brothers.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Lynn Hager; his niece Paula Opyd; his nephew, Michael Hager; and great nice, Kylea. He is also survived by many dear friends who were his extended family.
Funeral services will be held privately.
