
Obituary of Elaine Barbara Lyons
Elaine Barbara Lyons, 82, beloved wife of Joseph T. Lyons, Jr., died at her home in Danbury, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born in Boston, MA on April 21, 1941, daughter of the late Stanley G. and Myrel (Bern) Simmons.
Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent with her family.
In addition to her cherished husband of 60 years, Joseph, she will be dearly missed by her three children: Michele Lyons (Bob Riley), Stephanie Lyons-Keeley (Wayne), Robert Lyons (Brenda Mac); her ten grandchildren: Jessica Carter (Ryan), Amanda Lyons, Jacob Anderson, Samuel Anderson (Brook), Joshua Acuff, Jonah Acuff, Kylie Keeley, Chayce Schultz, Aidan Schultz, and Brady Schultz. Elaine was excited about the upcoming marriage of Samuel and Brook and looking forward to attending.
Elaine was predeceased by her brother Stuart B. Simmons.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, July 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury and ask anyone who would like to join them afterward back at the Lyons family home for refreshments and memories at 15 Eastwood Rd., Danbury.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 16 at Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton St., Sharon, MA at 1:45 p.m.
