Obituary of Harry Schueschner III

Harry Schueschner III, 69, of Brookfield, CT passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 28, surrounded by his family and beloved animals. Harry fought a courageous 8-year battle with Brain Cancer, GBM.

Harry was born March 4, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to CT his senior year in high school, graduating from Danbury High.

Prior to his illness, Harry was the Chief Judicial Marshal for the Danbury District where he worked for 30 years. He worked tirelessly throughout his career to make the profession what it is today. He received many honors but was most proud of receiving the Liberty Bell Award from the American Bar Association.  He loved his work, even on the worst of days.

Harry had a passion for the restaurant business, owning and managing a number of restaurants in NY and CT. He was known for his innate ability at bartending and telling it like it is. When not working, he was spending quality time with his family either at home or at one of his favorite campgrounds.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Kimberly (Downs) Schueschner as well as his three children: Amie Mumma and husband David of New Milford, William Schueschner of Brookfield, and Samantha Schueschner of Danbury; and his beloved grandson Jared Mumma.  Also by his only sister, Sandy and brother-in- law Ken Holthaus of TN and mother-in-law Nancy (Downs) Smith of FL; sister-in-laws Pamela Dobert of FL and Heidi (Danny) Mercer of TX, and brother-in-law Chris (Jodi) Downs of FL; as well as several nieces and nephews and their beloved children.

His parents Harry Schueschner Jr and Janetta Molloy Schueschner predecease Harry.
