Mr. Cleary was such a presence through Bethel Parks and Rec program. I remember him as a fair umpire at my softball games. Rest in Peace, Mr. Cleary.

My teaching life in Bethel began in 1972 in Rockwell School. It seems the Cleary name is part of a Bethel Legend!

I came to know John through his walks at the mall with his son, Tim. We had many chats after his walks and he was always congenial and anxious to listen and even share his thoughts once in a while...after a time, I discovered that my wife, Judy, knew John and his wife from their visits to Glen Hill many years ago when her mother was there. They were visiting their family member also. Our condolences and sympathy to his family. He will be missed.
