So sorry to hear of your loss. I was out of town, only learning about Joe's passing on Labor Day. I've been one of his customers over 2 decades, and had many conversations, including some about his health issues. So sorry to see one of our good guys leave us. He will be missed by all!

We loved Joe very much. He was our first friend in Newtown when we moved here in 1990. He and Diane opened their home to us. The warmth and generosity of their hearts endeared them both, always, to our hearts!

We met Diane and Joe Schultz through my sister, Bonnie Sandor and her husband James. Bonnie worked for many years with Diane at Save the Children, and from there they formed a long, lasting friendship. We became the “Gang of Six” – Diane, Joe, Bonnie, James, Mike (my then-boyfriend, now husband), and I. We celebrated all of each other’s birthdays, and in the summers we had many wonderful cookouts at the Schultz house, as Joe and James manned the grill. Diane and Joe entertained us many times at their spacious, beautiful home. Everyone enjoyed playing with their loveable mutt, “Bailey”. The thing we will remember most about Joe was his ready smile, and his laugh. Joe told many jokes. Some of them were a little corny, but we all laughed anyway. It seems inconceivable to us now that we will never see Joe again, or hear his laugh. We will miss him a great deal. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Diane and her family, as well as to the Schultz family, at this most difficult time. With our love and deepest sympathy, Lori and Mike Krysiuk.

Joe was a friend of ours for many years. I worked with Diane, his wife & we enjoyed movies, their dog Bailey, the mysterious cat Salem & countless picnics, vacations & parties . They were all memorable as was Joe. He was always ready to help in any way he could.
We have deep sadness for ourselves and family knowing Joe has left this world and great thanks that he gave a much needed helping hand when ever asked.
Our deepest sympathy and please accept our condolences. May your family find comfort at this most difficult time.
Much Love, James and Bonnie Sandor
