My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you. Mr. Joe was a father to all of us as we sat on his stoop day after day, year after year. No matter what we did or how old we got (or thought we were), we gravitated back to that stoop, where we knew we were safe and loved. Mr. Joe had a way of using that gruff, albeit harmless, bark to remind us he was there, watching us all. But if you stared him down long enough, he couldn't help but to break into that winning smile and the twinkle was quickly back in his eye. Memories that stay in your heart long after the pain subsides....
To my dear lifelong friends Laura, John, Mary-no words I have feel right. Just know I am always here for you and love you all.
To Joe and Joanne-my prayers and love go out to you and your families.
To Lucy-I wish you a sense of peace through this very difficult time.
Mr. Joe, I'm sure you are up there, on some stoop in Heaven's Bronx, with your "wine" and smiling on your beautiful family.....Cheers!
