Obituary of Angelina Ann Rubicco
Angelina Ann Rubicco, age 94 of Brookfield, died on Monday morning at her residence. She was the wife of the late George F. Rubicco. Angelina was born August 25, 1921 in Mount Vernon, NY the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Masiello) Sblano. Raised and educated in Mount Vernon, she later married her husband George and together they raised their family in Mount Vernon. It was in New York that Angelina worked for Lord and Taylor for 15 years until the time of her retirement.
Following the death of her husband in 1990, Angelina moved to Brookfield, where she was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church. She actively volunteered in the greater Danbury area with the national organization RSVP, at the the Dorothy Day Hospitality House, and at the Daily Bread Food Pantry in association with Saint James Episcopal Church, Danbury. She also volunteered with the American Cancer Society.
A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and caring friend, Angelina is survived by her children: Joseph E. Rubicco of Cape Coral, FL, Susan R. Quaranta and her husband James of Brookfield, and Diana M. Guarino of Danbury, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Nicholas J. Rubicco and daughter Irene A. Bianco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday March 3rd at Saint Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday March 2nd from 4 thru 8pm.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to Saint Joseph Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, ND 57325.
