Obituary of Frank Cipolla

Frank Cipolla Jr. May 05, 1929 - April 21, 2008 Frank Cipolla, Jr., of Brookfield, devoted husband of Mary A. (Addessi) Cipolla, died peacefully at Candlewood Valley Center for Healthcare on Tuesday, April 21st. He was born in the family home on Kellogg Street in Brookfield on May 5, 1929, son of the late Frank and Tessie (Caperela) Cipolla. He was one of sixteen children and was a lifelong resident of Brookfield. He definitely was a family man, loving his three children, and five grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were playing the organ, building his antique truck, and working in his garden. He was a topnotch mechanic, owning and operating Frank Cipolla Motors for more than 40 years. Frank was a founding member of the Southern New England Racing Association and was an official at Danbury Racearena for many years. He built and raced his own stock cars at the Danbury Fair Grounds. In addition to his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Robert M. Cipolla and his wife, Thayer, David F. Cipolla; his daughter, Luanne R. Hogan and her husband, William; his five grandchildren, Shaela and her husband, Greg Hillmann, Rebecca, and Leana Cipolla, Kevin and Katherine Mary Hogan. Also surviving are his sisters, Frances (Fritz) Lapine, and Antoinette (Ginny) Fotion; his brother, Dan Cipolla and many nieces, nephews, loving brothers and sisters-in-law, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Albert, Nick, Joseph, John and Henry Cipolla; and sisters, Josephine "Pat" Cipolla, Lillian Damelio, Mary (Hoodie) Kriss, Theresa Adams, Rosie Prisciantelli, and Philomena Kravarik. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 25th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday evening between the hours of 5:00 - 8:00pm .
