Obituary of Cleo J. Joseph

Cleo J. Joseph November 18, 1925 - February 16, 2010 Cleo J. Joseph, 84, of Putnam Drive, Danbury, beloved husband of Mary Jane (Wagner) Joseph, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, February 16th. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on November 18, 1925, son of the late Charles and Mary (Deeb) Joseph. He was a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Church. Mr. Joseph was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He was a recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany). He worked as a machinist for Republic Foil in Danbury. He was Commander of the V.F.W Post 149 for 24 years. He was a lifetime member of the Catholic War Veterans, and Disabled American Veterans. He was a past National Officer and Aide-De-Camp. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Joseph will be sadly missed. In addition to his cherished wife of 57 years, he is survived by his three sons, Robert and his wife, Patricia of New Fairfield, Charles of Danbury, Thomas and his wife, Vicki of Danbury; his daughter, Diane Antonio and her husband, Joe of Danbury; his eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Joseph and his wife, Barbara of Port Charlotte, FL; his sister, Sadie Gabriel of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin grandsons, Thomas Michael and John Edward; his brothers, Edward and Michael; and his sisters Eva and Lillian. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 22nd at 10:30am at St. Anthony's Maronite Church, Danbury, with Monsignor Ignace Sadek officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, February 21st between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00pm. Incense Prayer Service will take place at 6:00pm.
