Obituary of Emil W. Janesky

Emil W. Janesky February 14, 1921 - July 31, 2005 Emil W. Janesky, 84, a lifetime resident of Danbury, died on Sunday, July 31st at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of 35 years, of the late Edna May (Clarkson) Janesky. Mr. Janesky was born February 14, 1921, in the family home on Great Plain Road, were he resided until his death. He was the son of the late Emil W. and Emily (Tezloff) Janesky. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving from February 9, 1943 until October 30, 1945. He was a sergeant in Company B, 503rd Military Police Battalion, Third Army under General George S. Patton, for whom had great admiration and respect. After landing in Normandy, he served in the Ardinnes, Central Europe, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns. He was honorably discharged with the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Upon his discharge he returned to his hometown and his family. He operated the family livestock farm until 1978. His flower garden was the highlight of Great Plain Road and his vegetable garden was shared by many. He retired from Suburban Propane, in Brewster, NY., in 1993 after 35 years of service. He loved all forms of farming, hunting, nature, and spending time with his traveling companion, his son, Kurt "Buddy." He was a dedicated father who expressed his love for his sons and grandchildren in his own special way. He was a very patriotic man who instilled his love of the United States, and the American way, in his children. Mr. Janesky is survived by his five sons, Robert E. of Brookfield, Richard J. and his wife, Lori of Palm City, Fla, Thomas E., Kurt W. and Brian J. Janesky, all of Danbury. He also leaves behind four grandsons, Timothy, Thomas, Adam and Richard Janesky; and one granddaughter, Karin Guglielmo. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elsie, Emily, and Martha. Funeral Information The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home on Tuesday, August 2nd between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, August 3rd at 11:00am. with Pastor Eric Wismar officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
