Obituary of Gordon J. Hunt

Gordon J. Hunt May 12, 1928 - January 28, 2005 Gordon James Hunt, Sr., age 76, of Danbury died on Friday, January 28, 2005 at Danbury Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Christine (Deboben) Hunt. Mr. Hunt was born in Danbury on May 12, 1928, a son of the late Lester and Mary (Burns) Hunt. He was a graduate of Danbury High School. Mr. Hunt served in the Air Force. He was employed by Doman Helicopter in Danbury and then as a supervisor at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford retiring in 1990 after 33 years of service. As a young father Gordon was active in Little League in Danbury. He was a member of AARP, Sikorsky Retirement Association, and was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church. Gordon was known for his good sense of humor. He was a loving man and will be greatly missed. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Gordon J. Hunt, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Walpole, NH; Timothy Hunt of Bradenton, FL; 2 daughters: Mildred Hunt of Portland, OR and Brenda Hunt of Danbury, CT; 1 stepson: Donald Deboben of Waterbury, CT; 2 stepdaughters: Diane Bell and her husband Paul of Essex, CT and Donna Deboben of Danbury; 3 grandchildren: Rebecca Briggs, Jessica Hunt and Jeremy Hunt; 2 great granddaughters: Amalia Hunt and Charlotte Briggs; 3 sisters: Mollie Bethea of Sebring, FL, Joan Fuller of Lee, MA, and Doris Hare of Hilton Head, SC. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen Gudim and a son, Chad Hunt. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 31, 2005 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Danbury. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 in the afternoon until 8:00PM at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, CT.
