Obituary of Robert J. Hossan

Robert J. Hossan October 17, 1928 - March 30, 2009 Robert J. Hossan, age 80, of Heritage Village, Southbury, devoted husband of Gladys (Schweitzer) Hossan, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, March 30th. He was born in Danbury on October 17, 1928, son of the late John and Florence (Culligan) Hossan. He was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1946. Mr. Hossan was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He retired from the State of Connecticut Lottery Commission in 1997. He also was a former officer of City Trust Bank and sold real estate for several years. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 60, volunteered for the American Cancer Society, and was an avid golfer. In addition to his beloved wife of 57 years, he will be sadly missed by his sons, Robert and his wife, Gail of Delmar, NY, William and his wife, Jean of Southington, Michael and his wife, Michele of Danbury; his two grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas Hossan; his brother, Monsignor John Hossan of Southbury; and his sister, Florence Hossan of Indianapolis, IN. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Hossan and his sisters, Mary Broderick and Elizabeth Lombardi. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 3rd at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
