Obituary of Genevieve Hood

Genevieve Hood March 13, 1924 - January 24, 2005 Genevieve C. "Jay" (Legge) Hood, 81, of Tommy's Lane, Brookfield, died at New Milford Health and Rehab, on Sunday, January 24th. She was born in Aliquippa, PA on March 13, 1924 daughter of the late Ralph and Angela (Toma) Legge. She made her home in Brookfield in 1997 and was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church. Prior to moving to Brookfield, Mrs. Hood made her home in Mount Vernon, New York. She worked for Edwards's food store as a clerk for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Standard Athletic Club in Mount Vernon. Mrs. Hood loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, baking, and cooking for her family and friends. She will be missed by her two sons, Paul Hood and his wife, Linda of Dover Plains, NY, Dewey J. Hood and his wife, Bette of Mount Vernon, NY; her daughter, Angela Milone and her husband Joe of Brookfield; her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Legge and two sisters, Rose Baranyk and Louise Rubino; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nat, Tux and Tony Legge; and her sister, Catherine Pizzarello. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 26th at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, between the hours of 6 and 8pm on Tuesday, January 25th.
