Obituary of George Holick

George Holick December 16, 2005 George Holick, 84, of Largo, Florida, died Friday, December 16th at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida. He was born in Danbury and moved to Florida in 1984 from New Milford. He was a proud Veteran of World War II, serving on the submarine USS Bluefish. He was a Danbury Hatter; worked at Bullards in Bridgeport. For many years was the permittee of the Lakeview in Danbury and prior to retiring to Florida was permittee of the Newtown Country Club. Mr. Holick was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Largo, Fl and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Danbury. He was a member of Elks Lodge #1529 of Largo; American Legion Post #273 of Madeira Beach, Fl., and Sokol USA Lodge #30 of Danbury. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Effie Hennessey of Danbury and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Josephine Holick; his brothers, John and Paul Holick; and sisters, Anna Novak and Christine Moses. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 44 Spring St. Danbury, on January 7, 2006 at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Fellowship will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Danbury. Donations Information The family suggests donations to the Hospice Foundation of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760; St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the charity of ones choice.
