Geraldine Falis April 20, 1931 - October 08, 2009 Geraldine Page Jarvis Falis,78, daughter of the late Oliver and Edna Connell Page, passed away on October 8, 2009 in Argyle, NY. Gerry was born in Danbury and graduated from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. Gerry had a long career as a registered nurse, concentrating in obstetrics at Danbury Hospital for over 34 years helping to deliver many babies, including her own grandchildren. Gerry also spent some time working as a private duty nurse and in the mental health field. Gerry loved music, singing, and dancing all of her life. She was devoted to her animals, and in recent years, she had a beloved poodle named "Nikki". As a young woman, she attended the Newman School of Dancing where she first learned ballroom dancing. Gerry came from a musical family (her mother and father were both musicians) and this stayed with her for her entire life. Gerry married Charles E. Jarvis, also of Danbury. They were married until his death in 1979. She later remarried, Edward P. Falis. After retirement, Gerry and Eddie lived in Ormond Beach, Fla. until her move to Queensbury, NY, several years after Eddie's death in 1995. Gerry lived the last few years of her life at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Argyle, NY, near her daughter, Cathy. Gerry is predeceased by her parents, and her only brother, Donald Page. She is survived by her 5 daughters and their families: Cindy Sliech and her husband, Michael, Lynn Ferrier and her husband, David, Cathy Robertson and her husband, Logan, Nancy Jarvis, and Kelley Jarvis. Gerry was also grandmother to Joshua Gilbert, Elizabeth Ferrier Horta, Daniel Gilbert, Emily Ferrier, Robert Hancock, David MacLay, Gregory Sliech, and great grandmother to Tyler Duncan. She also had several stepbrothers and sisters, stepchildren, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, October 13th at 10:00am with Logan Robertson, her son-in-law, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, all contributions in her memory should be made to Danbury Hospital Development Fund, Labor and Delivery or the Animal Welfare Society of New Milford, CT.
