Obituary of Bettiann Dana

Bettiann Dana May 07, 1947 - April 16, 2007 Elizabeth Ann "Bettiann" Dana Elizabeth Ann "Bettiann" Dana, 59, of Bethel, devoted wife of Neale Dana, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16th, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Stamford on May 7, 1947, daughter of the late Thomas and Kathryn (Hagan) Tunney. She attended Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford. At the time of her death, Bettiann was an Administrative Assistant to the Principal of Weston Middle School. In addition she previously worked for the town of Bethel, where she was Recreation Supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department. She also spent many years with D&B Computing Services. Bettiann was a lover of life and will be missed by her family and friends. She took pleasure in donating her time to the youth of the community, involving herself in activities such as being a Brownie Troup Leader, PTO member, and Advisor to the Bethel Youth Group for several years. In addition to her loving husband, Neale, she is survived by her two cherished daughters, Michelle Rutledge of Southbury and Melissa Robinson of Newtown; her two adoring grandchildren, Dillon Patrick Robinson and Margaret Elizabeth Rutledge; her sister, Kathie of Tampa, Florida; her brother, TJ of Stamford; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia; and her brother, Daniel. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 20th, 10:00am at St. Mary Church, Bethel. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, April 19th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Bettiann's memory be directed to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main Street, Danbury, CT. 06810.
