Obituary of Rollin N. Dakin

Rollin N. Dakin May 27, 1952 - November 17, 2009 Rollin N. Dakin, 57, of Bethel, cherished husband of 27 years to Beverly (Sinta) Dakin, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, November 17th, after a courageous struggle with cancer. He was born in the Bronx, NY on May 27, 1952, beloved son of Burton Dakin of Cliffside Park, NJ, and the late Jeanette (Schreiber) Thompson. He received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University. A resident of Bethel for over 24 years, Mr. Dakin worked as a financial analyst at General Electric for 32 years. He was also a realtor for Century 21 Scalzo in Bethel for 8 years and this was his true passion. He volunteered his time delivering donations from Panera Bread to the Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury weekly and was a member of the Humane Society. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and was happiest spending time with his family and friends on vacations, especially cruises. In addition to his wife, Beverly, his father, Burton and stepmother, Phyllis, he is survived by his son, Charlie Dakin of Danbury; his daughter, Emily Dakin of Hoboken, NJ; his brother, Mitchell Dakin and wife, Tina of Mahwah, NJ; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in laws and brother-in-law. He will be greatly missed by his many beloved friends and coworkers. Funeral Information The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, November 20th between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30pm. A Memorial Service celebrating Rollin's life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 21st at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Rd, Bethel.
