Obituary of Theodora Couture

Theodora Couture November 21, 1942 - January 12, 2007 Theodora G. (Ficocello) Couture, 64, of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Brookfield, devoted wife of John W. Couture, died at Treasure Coast Hospice in Florida on January 12, 2007. She was born in Hartford on November 21, 1942, daughter of the late Theodore and Rose (D'Angona) Ficocello. She was a graduate of Western Connecticut State University School with a BA in Social Work. She received her LPN from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury. She worked as an LPN at River Glenn in Southbury and at Ridgefield Pediatrics. She specialized in caring for sick children in private practice. Mrs. Couture made her home in Brookfield for nearly 31 years. She was a past member of the Newtown Book Club and the Brookfield Welcome Wagon. In Florida, she was Secretary of the Social Committee of Pine Lake Estates; she served as president of the Book Club and maintained the library in Pine Lake Estates. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed. In addition to her beloved husband of 43 years, John, she is survived by her son, John T. Couture and his fiancé, Debra Adams of New Richmond, OH; her daughter, Allison Buckley and her husband Michael of Gaylordsville; her three grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Hinman, and Claire Buckley. She is also survived by her sister, Maryann Ficocello of South Windsor; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Smith. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20th at 10:00am at St Francis Church, New Milford. Burial will follow in Morning Side Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
