Obituary of Francis Connors

Francis Connors November 01, 1945 - March 31, 2006 Francis Connors of Candlelight Drive, Danbury, husband of the late Julia (Godwin) Connors, died at his home on Friday, March 31st. He was born in Scranton, PA., on November 1, 1923, son of the late Patrick and Margaret Connors. He was a graduate of Central High School in Scranton. Mr. Connors enlisted in the United States Army on March 30, 1943. He served in Germany and at the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium with the 701st Tank Battalion as a Medium Tank Crewman. He was wounded in battle and honorably discharged on October 20, 1945. He was honored with a Purple Heart and European Theater Medals. A Danbury resident for more than thirty years and retired from Perkin Elmer as a sheet metal worker after twenty years of employment. He was an active lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0060, VFW Post 149, the Disabled War Veterans - Chapter 25, and the Catholic War Veterans. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Butler and her husband Richard; his son, Bill Connors; his stepdaughter, Patricia Liverman; his grandchildren, Laurie Feldman and her husband Rob, Jeffrey Crisco, Michael, Courtney, and Michele Connors, Faith and Bethany Liverman; and his great grandson, Christopher Feldman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews; as well as his first wife, Rita Tomko. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Gerald, James and John Connors. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 3rd at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, April 2nd between the hours of 5 and 8pm.
