Obituary of Marie J. Coffey

Marie J. Coffey December 07, 1930 - November 13, 2005 Marie J. (Negri) Coffey, 74, of White Street, Danbury, devoted wife of Martin "Sam" Coffey, passed away after a brief illness, on November 13th at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Danbury on December 7, 1930, daughter of the late James and Lauretta (Montgomery) Negri. Mrs. Coffey retired from the distribution department of the Danbury News Times. She spent her early years working with her parents and brothers at the 6 & 7 Restaurant. Most importantly, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her husband of 53 years, Sam, she will be sadly missed by her five children, Martin Coffey and his wife, Virginia of New Fairfield, Donna Wildman and her husband Trevor of Danbury, Laurie Cruess and her husband Michael of Cheshire, Karen Tomasini and her husband Gary of Danbury, and Glory Bennette and her husband John of Melbourne, Florida; her ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, James Negri and his wife, Flo of Danbury, Richard Negri and his wife, Eileen of Myrtle Beach, SC; her brother-in-law, Thomas Ploski of Rockville, MD.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean (Negri) Ploski. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, November 17th at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Entombment in St. Peter Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home on Wednesday, November 16th between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm.
