Obituary of Daniel J. Cipolla

Daniel J. Cipolla November 25, 1930 - September 22, 2008 Daniel J. Cipolla, 77, of Bridgewater, beloved husband of Ruth E. (Graze) Cipolla, died peacefully in the presence of his family at home on Monday, September 22nd. He was born in New Fairfield on November 25, 1930, son of the late Frank, Sr. and Tessie (Caperella) Cipolla. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Tech. Mr. Cipolla worked as contractor and mason, owning and operating Cipolla Brothers, and later supplied local companies with millwork through is own saw mill. Upon retirement he focused his talents in dairy farming, operating "Indian Valley Farm" in Bridgewater. He was well known for his tomatoes, bluebird houses, and his beautifully crafted cupolas that can be found on numerous buildings in the area. He was a charter member of the Brookfield Fire Department and Brookfield Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the Bridgewater Cemetery Committee. In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, Ruth, he will be sadly missed by his son, Ronald A. Cipolla and his wife, Sandra of Bridgewater; his daughter, Larina L. Cipolla of New York, NY; his grandchildren, Anthony Goldie and Nicholas Cipolla; and two great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jr., and Mason Goldie. He is also survived by his sisters, Francis Lapine of Danbury, Antoinette Fotion of Ansonia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Paul Cipolla; his daughter, Diane B. Cipolla; his seven brothers, and six sisters. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, September 25th at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Bridgewater South Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
