Obituary of Rose Marie Wilda

Rose Marie Wilda May 25, 1913 - September 18, 2009 Rose M. (Gigliotti) Wilda, age 96, formerly of Highland Park Dr, Danbury, wife of the late Stanley Wilda, died peacefully at her home at the Village at Brookfield Common, on Monday, September 18th. She was born in Danbury on May 25, 1913, daughter of the late Joseph and Philomena (Bruno) Gigliotti. She was a graduate of Danbury High School and longtime member of the Baptist Church of Danbury. Rose was a true American who was joyful to live in such a beautiful land. She proudly supported the troops during World War II by volunteering with the Red Cross in Danbury and shared her many memories of that time with her children. Before her retirement, Rose worked in manufacturing for American Cyanamid. In her younger years she worked for Safeway and the Hotel Green, where she met her beloved husband. She was a member of the Danbury AARP, and the Red Hat Society at the Villages. While living at the Village she made many friends, and loved to take part in activities, especially ceramics and painting. Rose will be remembered as a woman of great faith in the Lord, who treated everyone with love and compassion. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Priscilla Wilda Beaulieu of New Fairfield; her two sons, Daniel Wilda of Danbury, David Wilda and his wife, Dawn of Woodbury; and her grandson, Nathan Wilda. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Stanley, she was predeceased by her four brothers, Anthony, Michael, Frank, and Samuel Gigliotti. Funeral Information Services will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at 10:30am. at the Grandview Mausoleum at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 21st at 2:00pm at the Village in Brookfield.
