Obituary of Bernice K. Van Wie

Bernice K. Van Wie June 18, 1911 - January 15, 2007 Bernice K. (Foley) VanWie, 95, of Hoyt Street, Danbury, wife of the late George C. VanWie, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, January 15th. She was born in Danbury on June 18, 1911, daughter of the late William T. and Grace (Ruscoe) Foley. She was a graduate of Danbury High School. Mrs. VanWie made her home in Bethel most of her life. She worked as a claims processor for George O'Brien Insurance Company in Danbury. Mrs. VanWie was an active member of the Central Christian Church and served as past secretary for the church. She enjoyed playing the piano and was a social Bridge player. She will be sadly missed by her son, David A. VanWie and his wife, Marilie of Pahrump, Nevada; her daughter, Virginia Bonacci and her husband, Michael of Bethel; her three grandchildren, David A. VanWie Jr., Gary R. VanWie, and Donald Jason Lee; her three great grandchildren, Jeffery G. VanWie, Erin VanWie and Emma Grace Lee,. She is also survived by her two sisters, Norene Riley of Bethel and Lois Furlong of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Chester Foley. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Danbury Health Care and the Danbury Hospital Emergence Room Department. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 19th at 11:00am at the Central Christian Church, 71 West Street, Danbury. Burial in Wooster Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday morning between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00am. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
