Phoebe E. (Sharra) Sprindis, age 83, of Christian Lane, Brookfield, wife of the late Lt. Col. Stephen W. Sprindis, Sr., died at Bethel Health Care Center on Sunday, July 19th. She was born in New Milford on January 1, 1926, daughter of the late John and Anna (Ohnerners) Sharra. She was a lifetime member of the community.
Mrs. Sprindis was a homemaker who devoted herself to her family. She was the oldest, lifelong member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. She was compassionate and generous woman who gave freely of herself to those who were sick or in need. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a driver for the American Cancer Society.
She will be sadly missed by her three sons, Stephen W. Sprindis, Jr. and his wife, Marlana of Brookfield, John C. Sprindis of Danbury, and Allan R. Sprindis and his wife, Christina of New Milford; her grandson, Christopher Sprindis; and her two sisters, Beverly McGuire of Hawaii, and Jacqueline Gillman of Windsor Locks; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 23rd at 11:00am at the Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Vicky A. Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
