Obituary of Dominick Solazzo

Dominick Solazzo January 10, 1924 - April 07, 2005 Dominick Solazzo, 81, of Jensen's Park, Danbury, devoted husband of Lorraine (Pasquerelli) Solazzo, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, April 7th. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 10, 1924, son of the late Bartholomew and Crescenza (Dinielle) Solazzo. Mr. Solazzo was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific with the United States Army. He later worked as a Stationary Fireman with the State of New York for thirty years. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Church, Danbury. He was known as "Dominick the Shoe Shine Guy." He enjoyed woodworking and feeding his wild birds. He was also active in the Lakeview Social Club. In addition to his wife of nearly 56 years, Lorraine, he is survived by his son, Bartholomew and his wife, Joy of Flushing, NY; his daughters, Marie Solazzo, Ph.D. of New Fairfield, Margaret Solazzo Gonzalez and her husband Marcus of Powder Springs, GA., and Catherine Bautista and her husband Eddy of Flushing, NY; his eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Raymond D'Agnes of Long Island as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 11th at 10:30 am. Interment in St. Peter Mausoleum will follow. The Family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, April 10th between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00pm.
