Obituary of Pasquale V. Simonelli

Pasquale V. Simonelli October 24, 1914 - November 17, 2008 Pasquale V. Simonelli, age 94, of Great Plain Road, Danbury, beloved husband of the late Rose M. Simonelli, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, November 17th. He was born in Brewster, NY on October 24, 1914, son of the late Andrew and Theresa (Spinetta) Simonelli. Mr. Simonelli was a Veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant with the United States Army. He worked as a butcher for Grand Union for many years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, VFW Post 149, Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He was a past member of the St. Gregory the Great Church Holy Name Society and Americo Vespucci. In addition to his many memberships, he was an avid card player and enjoyed playing bingo. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Phyllis M. Ducibella and her husband, Charles F. of Danbury; his grandchildren, Victor J. Ducibella of New Milford, Dan Ducibella of South Salem, NY, and Rosemary Ducibella of Danbury; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Isadore Simonelli of Wilbraham, MA; his niece, Sandy Gilberte; and nephews, John and Joseph Santorelli; and many friends. He was also known as "Special Papa Patsy" to Mike and Zach. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Mortolla, and his sister, Eva Santorelli. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 21st at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday evening between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00pm.
