Ludwig "Lou" Schwenk, age 84, of Danbury, died peacefully on July 4, 2011. He was the devoted husband of Adele (Krueger) Schwenk.
He was born in Germany on November 15, 1926, a son of the late Wilhelm and Bertha (Lange) Schwenk. He immigrated to America in 1951 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a supervisor for Kings Electronics in Tuckahoe, NY for over 39 years. It was only recently that Mr. and Mrs. Schwenk moved to the Danbury area to be closer to their family.
In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, he is survived by a son: Edgar Schwenk and his wife, Marielena, of Brewster, NY; 2 daughters: Elizabeth Sturm of Commack, NY, Susan Fox and her husband, Colin, of Brewster, NY; 2 brothers: Adolf and Edmund Schwenk of Germany; and 5 grandchildren: Daniel Sturm, Matthew Sturm, Rachel Sturm, Brian Fox, and Christopher Fox and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Michael Sturm. Funeral Information
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 11:00am at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury with Pastor Walt Harper of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial in Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Donations Information
