Obituary of Marie P. Scalzo

Marie P. Scalzo June 12, 1930 - January 23, 2009 Marie P. Scalzo, of Sunrise, Florida, formerly of Danbury, wife of the late Fred S. Scalzo, died at Cleveland Clinic in Weston Florida on January 23rd. She was born in Bridgeport on June 12, 1930, daughter of the late John J. and Frances (Donnelly) Walsh. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, and a member of their cheerleading squad. Mrs. Scalzo worked as an Assistant Branch Manager for Connecticut National Bank, retiring in 1986. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her home in Sunrise Lakes Community in Florida. She was an avid reader, and a fan of the Miami Heat and the Florida Marlins. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Richard Jasinski and his wife, Catherine of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Joseph Jasinski and his wife, Linda of SW. Ranches, FL; her two daughters, Sally Kilcran of Danbury, Jill Panek and her husband, John of Lansdale, PA; her stepsons, Peter Scalzo and his wife, Leslie of MO, James Scalzo and his wife Vera of CT, and Paul Scalzo and his companion Annette of IL; her sixteen grandchildren, Shyla, Shannon, Jared, Kara, Brandon, Steven, Emily, Gregory, Philip, Christopher, Zachary, Ashlynn, Dominick, Jaimie, Adriana and Giovanni; five great grandchildren, Courtney, Shay, Meah, Brynn and Gabriella. She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Walsh and his wife, Rosemary of KS; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John Walsh; her sister, Katherine O'Neill; and her stepdaughter, Jeanine Scalzo. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31st at 10:00am at St. Peter Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Friday January 30th between 6:00 and 9:00pm.
