Obituary of Anita Ruopp

Anita Ruopp August 28, 1932 - October 25, 2009 Anita (Berger) Ruopp Anita (Berger) Ruopp, 77, of Danbury, wife of Frederick Robert Ruopp and daughter of the late Walter and Madeleine (Nater) Berger, died on Sunday, October 25th at home, surrounded by her loving family. Anita was born on August 28, 1932 in Holtsville, California. She was an active parishioner of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury. She taught Bible class for special needs students, Vacation Bible School, was a charter member of the Women's Service Organization at Immanuel and a former Den Mother for Immanuel's Cub Pack 55. Most recently, she assisted the Lutheran Blind Mission volunteers of Immanuel and was a church newsletter volunteer. Over the years, Anita taught at the former DATAHR on Lake Avenue and Miry Brook Road; worked as a first grade teacher's aide at Immanuel Lutheran School; became certified and work as a paraprofessional at both the Mill Ridge schools and most recently at Danbury High School in the ESL Department. Besides her wonderful husband of 55 years, she is survived by four sons: Walter F. Ruopp and wife Frances; Dennis N. Ruopp and wife Caprice; Andrew J. Ruopp and wife Cheryl all of Danbury; and Stephen K. Ruopp and wife Diana of Norfolk, Connecticut; her three daughters, Loretta D. Fox and husband L. Kevin of Brookfield; Cynthia D. Palanzo and husband Roger; and Rachel A. Williams and husband Robert of Danbury; her brother, Charles Berger of Florence, Alabama; her sisters Rosemarie Blase of Sacramento, California and Helen Sutton of Port Orchard Washington; 21 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her sister Madeleine Gwerder and brothers, Maurice and Walter Berger. Her family would like to thank God for the blessing of Anita in their lives. They are grateful for the kind and compassionate care of Dr. John Pezzimenti and his staff at the Praxair Cancer Center of Danbury Hospital; also the Infusion Staff at Danbury Hospital, most especially Elizabeth. And, our sincere gratitude is offered to the staff at Regional Hospice of Western CT for their help and kindness which was immeasurable in her final days. Funeral Information A funeral service will be celebrated at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Danbury on Thursday, October 29th at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church before the service, beginning at 10:00 am.
