Obituary of Ida Piskura

Ida (Tawyea) Piskura January 06, 1918 - March 21, 2007 Ida J. (Tawyea) Piskura, 89, formerly of Bethel, wife of the late James Piskura, died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, March 21st. She was born in Johnston, Rhode Island on January 6, 1918, daughter of the late Augustus and Anna (Spaulding) Tawyea. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury. Mrs. Piskura worked as a forelady and bookkeeper at Neuman Endler Hat Factory in Danbury for 20 years. She loved to cook, garden, travel and have her family around her. She also enjoyed her bowling league and had several bowling trophies. She will be sadly missed by her grandson, Mark Piskura of Clearwater, FL; her granddaughter, Jill Blankschen and her husband, Michael of Danbury; her two great grandchildren, Mark Piskura II and Jacleen Piskura. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son and only child, Richard Piskura; her brothers, George, James, Augustus and Harry Tawyea; and her sisters, Rose Wellington, Violet Ashley Stanton, and Virginia Tawyea. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 26th at 1:00pm at St. James Episcopal Church, Danbury. Entombment in St. Peter Mausoleum will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, March 25th between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00pm.
