Obituary of Nancy Pedone

Nancy Pedone September 27, 1910 - July 13, 2009 Nancy (Polizzotti) Pedone, 98, of Sandy Hook, wife of the late Anthony Pedone, died peacefully at Pope John Paul II Center for Healthcare on Monday, July 13th. She was born in Palermo, Sicily Italy, on September 27, 1910, daughter of the late Giovanni and Gaetana (Drago) Polizzotti. Mrs. Pedone made her home in Valley Stream, Long Island for many years. She worked as a dressmaker for R and K Originals, Inc. Her passion for sewing continued, and she made her own dresses into her early nineties. She was a member of the Newtown Senior Citizen's Center and enjoyed their many activities, including travel and craft shows. She loved to "live life." She will be sadly missed by her son, Peter Pedone and his wife, Prudence with whom she made her home in Sandy Hook; her grandchildren, Peter Pedone and his wife, Kim of East Syracuse, NY, and Paul Pedone of Tampa, FL; and her great grandchildren, Ellie and Anna. She is also survived by her two brothers, John Polizzotti of Stamford and Mario Polizzotti of Cape Cod; her sister, Leah Lomke of Bronx, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews, especially her niece Tana Pedone with whom she remained close. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18th at Blessed Sacrament in Valley Stream, NY. Burial will follow in Holy Rood Cemetery.
