Obituary of Bessie Lee Payton

Bessie Lee Payton October 03, 1935 - August 14, 2011 Bessie L. Payton Bessie Lee Payton, 75, of Danbury died Sunday, August 14th at Danbury Healthcare. Bessie was born on October 3, 1935 in Greenville, NC to the late Albert Crandell and Annie Bell Rollins, where she lived and later wed Junior Best. Bessie later moved to New York after her marriage to the late Joseph Henry Payton and then to Danbury where she lived until she departed. She was hard working, determined and was a very giving person. To know her is to love her. She will never be forgotten and will always be loved and missed. May she rest in peace forever more. Bessie is survived by her three daughters, Mary Payton and Delores Rollins of Brooklyn, NY, Shirley Best of Conetoe, NC and her son David Best of Danbury; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Bessie is predeceased by her two sons, John Crandell and Gregory Best. Funeral Information Funeral services for Bessie will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 18th at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home on the day of the funeral services.
