Obituary of Joseph S. Paravati

Joseph S. Paravati Sr. August 27, 1925 - October 11, 2009 Joseph Paravati, Sr., of Brookfield, cherished husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Cicchetti) Paravati, died peacefully while surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 11th at his home. He was born in Bronx, NY on August 27, 1925, son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Fruscianti) Paravati. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Joseph was a Veteran of World War II, proudly serving with the United States Army. He was a recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Ribbon, and a Purple Heart. He also received a Presidential Unit Citation on March 30, 1945. He worked for the United States Postal Data System, retiring in 1985. He enjoyed membership in the Brookfield Jaycees and coordinated Bingo at the Brookfield Senior Center. He loved to fish, play Bocci, and watching the History Channel. Most importantly, Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Betty, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Steven J. Paravati and his wife, Catherine, Dr. Joseph S. Paravati, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, all of Brookfield; his daughter, Camille Carletto and her husband, Louis of Matthews, NC; his seven grandchildren, Michelle Igoe (Douglas), Steven Paravati, Jr., Melissa, Michael, and Matthew Paravati, Jennifer Carletto-Berg (Shane), and Lauren Carletto-Peoples (Donald). He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Carter, Ella, Max, Cole and Landon; his sister, Angie Giasullo of Queens, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 16th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Interment will follow in the mausoleum at St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
