Obituary of Michael Pacific

Michael Pacific October 06, 1922 - December 28, 2007 Michael Pacific, age 85, of Virginia Ave, Danbury, devoted husband of Ruth C. (Goldsmith) Pacific, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Friday, December 28th. He was born in Towanda, PA on October 6, 1922, son of the late Pietro and Eugenia (Macini) Pacific. Mr. Pacific was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy. He was a recipient of the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and Victory Medal. In his early years he worked for Lee Hat Company in Danbury and later retired as a security guard from Davis and Geck. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, and was a parishioner of St. Peter Church. He enjoyed coaching and pitching for local softball teams. In addition to his beloved wife, Ruth, he will be sadly missed by his seven sons, Peter (Jan) of Lebanon, Eugene (Cheryl) of Bethel, Edward of Danbury, Louis of Danbury, Raymond (Pat) of New Milford, Joseph (Debbie) of Danbury and Andrew of Danbury; his six daughters, Marylou Nelson (Kenneth) of Ga., Victoria Breece (Leon) of Danbury, Cindy Mosley (George) of VA, Jennie Bracco (Tony) of Danbury, Rose Coladarci (Steve) of Danbury, and Tina Brown (Antonio) of New Milford; his daughter-in-law, Pearl Pacific of Danbury; 35 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Grace Pacific of Bethel, Elsie Pacific of Danbury, and Faye Smith of RI; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael; his daughter, Angelina; and brothers, Louis, Henry, Dominic and Peter. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3rd at 10:00am at St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, January 2nd between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut.
