Obituary of George D. Miller

George D. Miller March 21, 1924 - March 21, 2007 George D. Miller, 83, of Kohanza Street, Danbury, devoted husband of Elsie Blasy Miller, died at Glenn Hill on Wednesday, March 21st. He was born in Danbury on March 21, 1924, son of the late George and Emily (Brabanti) Miller. He was a lifetime member of the Danbury Community. Mr. Miller was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army/Air Force. He worked as a supervisor for SNET, retiring after 35 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, the Pioneers of America (SNET), and the Richter Senior Men's Club. He loved to play golf and spend time with his family. In addition to his beloved wife of almost 30 years, Elsie, he is survived by his two sons, George, Jr. and his wife, Robin, and Kevin Miller, all of VT; his daughter, Sandra Morgan and her husband, Larry of Danbury; his three stepdaughters, Linda DaSilva and her husband, Joe of Danbury, Joan Hislop and her husband, Frank of Bethel, Barbara Stephens and her husband, Vic of Waterbury; his son-in-law, Hank Pickert of Litchfield; his nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel and his wife, Lorraine and Earl Miller; his sister, Adelaide Green and her husband, Richard; his sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Betty Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Susan Bjelko; his stepdaughter, Brenda Pickert; three brothers, and one sister. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at 11:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Monday, March 26th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
