Obituary of Cynthia Fay Belansky

Cynthia Fay Belansky August 12, 1947 - February 03, 2010 Cynthia Fay (Pomeroy) Belansky, age 62, formerly of Brookfield and Danbury, beloved wife of William R Belansky of Autryville, NC passed away peacefully at her home on February 3rd. She was born in Danbury on August 12, 1947, daughter of the late Charles F. and Fayoline M. (McKay) Pomeroy. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1965. Mrs. Belansky worked for Barden Corporation as a Group Leader for 23 years. She was a member of the Ladies Emblem Club at the Danbury Elks Lodge. Cindy was known for her baking, cooking and cake decorating by her family and friends; she would receive several requests for family favorites. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her cats Merlin and Missy. She was loved by all and touched the hearts of everyone she met, she will be sadly missed. In addition to her devoted husband of 38 years, Cindy is survived by her children, Jill Elko and her husband, Marc of Myrtle Beach, SC, Andrew Belansky of New Milford, William Belansky, Jr. and his wife, Loreen of Bear Valley Springs, CA, Gregory Belansky and his companion, Lisa Kelly of San Diego, CA, Donnie Belansky and his wife, Debbie of Aqua Dulce, CA, and Susan Belansky of Phoenix, AZ; her eleven grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Elko, Brandon and Brittnie Belansky, Shawn and Tim Doyle, William, Emilie, and Chloie Belansky, Paul Sumner, and Cruz Lopez. She is also survived by two brothers Charles F Pomeroy II and wife Sylvia of Brookfield, Larry Pomeroy and wife Elizabeth of Autryville, NC and two sisters; Diane Joy Pomeroy and her fiancé Mark Parker of Sanford, NC and Susan Pomeroy and her companion Jody Freelove of Brookfield, her sister-in-law Kate (Pomeroy) Zucca of Bridgewater; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Terry Pomeroy; and her daughter, Debbie Belansky. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at 10:00am at St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury. Burial will take place in Central Cemetery, Brookfield, in the spring. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Monday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
