Robert W. Mannion September 13, 1923 - October 24, 2009 Robert W. Mannion age 86 died at the Danbury Hospital on Oct 24, 2009. Mr. Mannion was a resident of Valley Stream Dr. in Danbury and the husband of Jeannette (Holick) Mannion. He was born in Danbury Sept 13, 1923 son of the late Lawrence and Harriet F. Ginty Mannion and attended Danbury Schools as well as the Germain School of Photography. A Veteran of WW II he served in the US Army. Mr. Mannion was a Professional Photographer and worked at the Danbury News Times for many years. He retired from Western Ct. State University as an Off Set Printer. He also was a well know free lance photographer and photographed many Wedding in this area. Mr. Mannion was the Official Photographer for the Danbury Fair and the Southern New York Racing Assoc. at the Danbury Racearena. He enjoyed gardening and his pet Dalmatian. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church Besides his loving wife of 48 years Bob is survived by his devoted daughter Colleen Mannion of Danbury and his brother William Ward and his wife Irene of Woodbury CT. His brother-in-law Ken and his wife Marge, his sister-in-law Dora Ward, and his sister-in-law Eleanor Joudy and her husband Joseph all from Danbury. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Mannion; his foster parents, James and Helen Ward; and his two foster brothers, Laurence and James Ward, Jr. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Weds Oct 28, 2009 at 10am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery Danbury. Friends are invited to call at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White St. Danbury Ct on Tues Oct 27, 2009 from 4 to 7pm.
