Obituary of Richard A. LaCava

Richard A. LaCava February 06, 1936 - June 20, 2006 Richard A. LaCava, 70, of Hickory Hill Road, Brookfield, devoted husband of Helga (Sroka) LaCava, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, June 20th. He was born in Danbury on February 6, 1936, son of the late Rocco and Florence (Vibbert) LaCava. Rick made his home in Brookfield in 1965. He owned and operated Rick's Water Service for more than 40 years. He was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield and was currently serving on the Parish Council. Rick enjoyed membership in the Brookfield Lions Club, the Drug Coalition at Brookfield High School, and volunteered at Ability Beyond Disability. He also volunteered as a foster caregiver for the Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation in the Danbury Area. In addition to his wife of 23 years, Helga, he will be sadly missed by his son, Richard LaCava of Grand Rapids, MI; his three daughters, Kaht LaCava-Byzak and her husband, Hank of San Diego, CA, Rosemarie LaCava of Patterson, NY., and Cassandra LaCava of Brookfield; his three grandchildren, Jessica Bouton, Kenny DeFreitas, and Laurissa LaCava. He is also survived by his sister, Geanne Murphy of Brookfield, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Rocco "Chuck" LaCava. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 23rd at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family. The Family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, June 22nd between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
