Obituary of Walter E. Kowalski

Walter E. Kowalski June 20, 1916 - October 19, 2008 Walter E. "Roger" Kowalski, age 92, formerly of Old Hawleyville Road, Bethel, husband of the late Agnes (Boezofski) Kowalski, died peacefully at his daughter's home in Lakeland, Fl, on Sunday, October 19th. He was born in Bethel on June 20, 1916, son of the late Frank and Katherine (Kolpa) Kowalski. He was a graduate of Bethel High School. Mr. Kowalski was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He later worked as a quality control technician for Consolidated Controls, also known as Eaton Corp. He also operated a Christmas tree farm on Old Hawleyville Rd. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury, and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the Polish American Club, AARP of Bethel, and the Bethel Senior Center. He will be sadly missed by his son, Harold R. Drowne and his wife, Linda of South Hadley, MA; his daughter, Patricia A. Lopes, of Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Kotkowski of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Agnes, he was predeceased by seven siblings. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 24th at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, between the hours of 9:15 and 10:00am.
