Obituary of Elaine Marie Clark

Elaine Marie Clark, of Danbury, wife of the late Myron C. Clark, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on June 14, 1937, daughter of the late George Stavros and Esther (Mercuio) Sciano.  She was a 1955 graduate of Central Commercial High School in Manhattan studying to become a secretary.

She worked as a secretary at Humphrey Brothers in Danbury where she met her husband Myron. They bought a house and started a family right away.  She was a housewife and mother while their 3 children were young but soon was back out in the workforce.

Elaine worked as a bank teller and then assistant manager at Danbury Savings and Loan in New Fairfield, CT.   She had a great talent for numbers and finance and was excellent with her customers.  She then worked for PHH Homeequity (now CARTUS) as a relocation accounting specialist for almost 30 years until her retirement.

Elaine loved to go to NYC to see a broadway show and travel with her family and friends to places near and far.  She and her husband spent most of their spare time redecorating their longtime home and working outside in the garden.

Elaine grew up in New York City but lived most of her life in Danbury.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and aunt.  She will be sadly missed by her three children, Carolyn Onorato and her husband, Robert, Jeffrey Clark and his wife, Karla, and Cheryl Clark; her stepdaughter, Kathleen Clark and her husband, Marty Towers; and two grandsons, Robert and Kyle Onorato. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and she was a great great great aunt.

She was predeceased by her siblings, George Starrett and Antoinette Siepmann.

A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 62 Main St, Newtown on Saturday, February 3rd at 11:30 am.  Live stream of the funeral service- Trinitynewtownct.org
