Obituary of Peter Krajc
Peter J. Krajc, 81, formerly of Danbury, beloved husband of Bonnie (Hayford) Krajc, died peacefully at Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach, Fla., on Tuesday, February 28th. He was born in Danbury on May 23, 1935, son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Yanosik) Krajc. He attended Lincoln Ave, New St. and Main St. Schools and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1953. He went on to attend New York Trade School for sign painting.
Peter was a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving in Alaska during the Korean War. He worked for Sears Roebuck for 30 years before going into business, owning and operating Signs by Peter K.
He was a member of the Sokol Lodge #30, Moose Lodge #1273, Elks Lodge 120, American Legion Post 60, and was a 50 year member of the Danbury Drum Corp. He enjoyed playing and managing the Danbury Industrial Softball League from 1963-1993, and organized the over 40 softball league in 1990. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he will be sadly missed by his three children, Joseph Krajc, Pam Huse and her husband, Tom, and Jane Fields and her husband, Mark; his stepson, Tim Hill; and his six grandchildren, Michael and Elizabeth Huse, Zach and Max Fields, Hayden and Jensen Hill.
At Peter's request, with the number 23 being a significant number in his life, funeral services will take place at 12:23pm on Monday, March 6th at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, with Pastor German of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning beginning at 11:00am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
