Obituary of Robert George Pratt
Robert G. Pratt, Sr., 89, of Danbury, beloved husband of Dolores (Dubon) Pratt, died peacefully at Saint John Paul II Center for Healthcare on Friday, November 4th. He was born in Rosedale, NY on October 3, 1927, son of the late Jonathan and Augusta (Schmitt) Pratt.
Mr. Pratt was a Veteran of the United States Army after being drafted during World War II. He worked as a design engineer for Norden Systems and Perkin Elmer in Norwalk and Danbury for many years.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Danbury where he served as an usher, was active with their Men’s Club, and ran the Bingo program. He also enjoyed being involved in local politics, supporting the Republican Party.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sadly missed.
In addition to his cherished wife, Dolores, he is survived by his four sons, Robert and his wife, Cheryl, Stephen, Gerard, and James Pratt and his wife, Karla; his nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth LaBas and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Harold Pratt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury.
Memorial Contributions in his memory may be made to Saint John Paul II Center, Alzheimer’s Unit, Patient Activities; or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
