Obituary of George L. Grenier

George L. Grenier March 04, 1935 - April 05, 2011 George L. Grenier aka "Bull - Danbury George" George L. Grenier, also known as "Bull - Danbury George", age 76, of Danbury passed away peacefully on April 5, 2011 while at Danbury Healthcare with family by his side. George was born in St. Isidore Canada on March 4, 1935. He came to the United States with his family at a very young age and made Roxbury and New Milford his home for many years until he joined the Air Force and fought in the Korean War. George was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 for 40 years and while working for them helped build the likes of Interstate 84, Route 8 and many more. George enjoyed frequenting the many area social clubs where he was known as "Bull" for driving a bull dozer and "Danbury George". He was a member at the American Legion #60, Brewster Elks Lodge #2101, the Moose Lodge, Catholic Wars Veterans and the Concordia Society. George loved playing all kinds of card games of which he most enjoyed playing cribbage with his brother and son. He also truly enjoyed dancing and camping which he did as often as he could. George then met Edith Jane Wells and had eight children and has made Danbury his home for the past 40 + years. He was predeceased by his wife Edith Jane Wells Grenier, 2nd wife Eileen Cable Grenier, his brother Donnie Grenier and his parents Lucille and Donat Grenier. He is survived by his children and their spouses Cindy Grenier, Donna Coelho (Al), Mark Grenier (Bonnie), John Grenier (Robin), Paul Grenier (Denise), Paulette Valluzzo (Nicholas), Charles Grenier (Judie) and Krista Grenier. His brother Adrian Grenier (Nancy), sister Charlotte Thompson (William) and sister Jeannette Webb (Victor). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Christina, Jonathan and Diana Coelho, Joshua and Noah Grenier, Nathaniel, Benjamin and Abbeylyn Grenier, Nicole and Carissa Valluzzo and Ashley, Kelsey and Ryan Grenier. 1 great granddaughter Aunnica Grenier and several nieces and nephews. George is also survived by his "Bestest" friend/companion of the past 10 + years Charlene Cable. Funeral Information Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, April 11, 2011 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Cottage St., Danbury, at 10 A.M. followed by internment of cremains at Redding Ridge Cemetery. Family and friends may call Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. Danbury.
