Alberto Rotella
February 10, 1946 - May 11, 2011
Alberto Rotella, 65, of Sandy Hook, loving husband of Brigid (Ribeiro) Rotella, died on Wednesday, May 11th at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Sersale, Italy February 10, 1946, son of the late Nicola and Caterina (Torchia) Rotella.
He was lovingly known as either Bob or Al. He was self employed, co-owning several car washes, including Classic Car Wash of Danbury, Monroe Car Wash of Monroe and 3D Tire Mart on White St. in Danbury.
Most recently, Al was a school bus driver for Ridgefield School Bus Company for 15 years and loved his job there. He was an avid news watcher and loved CNN.
In addition this beloved wife of 43 years, Brigid, he will be sadly missed by two sons, Robert Rotella Jr. of New Milford and Nick Rotella and his wife Marcia of Danbury; his daughter, Jennifer Motloch and her husband Michael of Austin Texas; and his six grandchildren, Cody Robert, Caitlyn, Chloe, Alexis and Alyssa. He is also survived by his brother, Angelo Rotella and his wife MaryLee of Westport; three sisters, Carmella Falbo and her husband Anthony, Josephine Mercurio and Angie Sapienza and her husband Benito; also his two brothers-in-law, Anthony Ribeiro and David Ribeiro and many nieces and nephews, especially Cathy Hunihan and Nick Rotella. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 8 Robinson Ave. Danbury, on Saturday, May 14th at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 13th at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd. Brookfield, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made in Roberto's name to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045 or to the charity of one's choice.
