Mrs. Florence H. Belorit April 04, 1918 - November 04, 2010 Florence H. Belorit Florence H. Belorit, age 92, of Bethel, died on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Bethel Health Care. She was the wife of the late John Belorit, Jr. She was born in Danbury on April 4, 1918, a daughter of the late Paul and Antoninia (Jesionowski) Chmielewski. A lifelong area resident, she was a member of the 2nd graduating class of Sacred Heart School and worked as a spinner in a local hat factory. She later went on to work at the Barden Corp. Mrs. Belorit was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of the Polish American Club. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took pleasure in playing "SKAT" with family and friends, especially her with her dear friend, Caroline Schirmer. Florence's favorite past time was boating on the lake with her family. She will be sadly missed is by her daughter: Sandy Schirmer and her husband, Bob of Bethel; grandson Robert A. Schirmer and his wife, Deanna; 2 granddaughters: Lori A. Schirmer; Jennifer Rux and her husband Mark; and grandsons: John Belorit, IV and his wife, Helen, Jeffrey Belorit and his wife, Judy, and Joshua Belorit; 8 great grandchildren: Jacqueline , Bobby, Nichole, Erika, A.J., Shane, Kimberly and Kyle; a sister: Valeria Lane and her husband, Harry, of Walden, VT; her brother-in-law, John Burzenski, of East Haven; her sisters-in-law, Cherie Belorit of Sedona, AZ, and Sue Reynolds of Greenville, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, she was predeceased by her son, John Belorit, III; two brothers: John and Casimir Chmielewski; and two sisters: Millie Sholtes and Nellie Burzenski; and her friend, Caroline Schirmer. The family gives a special thank you to the entire staff at Bethel Health Care and to Regional Hospice who took such good care of Florence. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.
