Angelo Mariano
May 28, 1926 - January 25, 2011
Angelo Mariano, 84, formerly of Kendall Terrace, Danbury, cherished husband of 58 years to Margaret (Senecka) Mariano, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, January 25th. He was born in Redding, PA on May 28, 1926, son of the late Frank and Carina (Gualano) Mariano.
Mr. Mariano was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army, 11th Armored Division in the Battle of Europe. He was the Vice President of Mariano Brothers, Inc from 1951 until his retirement in 1987.
He was a long time member of the First Assembly of God in Brookfield and was instrumental in the rigging and construction of the new church. He was an avid gardener who loved to share his fruits and vegetables.
He was a beloved and respected member of his family, always had a smile and a song for everyone. His positive attitude after his stroke inspired his family and friends.
Mr. Mariano will be sadly missed by his son, Frank J. Mariano and his wife, Annie of Bridgewater; his daughter, Donna M. Montesi and her husband, Bill of Danbury; his daughter-in-law, Nancy Silvestri and her husband, Jack of Danbury; his five grandchildren, Angelo Mariano and his wife, Kelly, Carina Webber and her husband, Kurt, Meghan Mariano, Melissa and Christine Montesi; and three great grandchildren, Grace and Bobby Mariano, and Noah Webber. He is also survived by his two brothers, Joseph Mariano and his wife, Frances of Brookfield, and Rev. Daniel Mariano and his wife Patti of Norwalk; his two sisters, Grace Re of White Plains, NY, and Rose Re of Delaware; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by his second wife, Margaret Harrington; his son, Michael A. Mariano; his brothers, Anthony, Peter and David Mariano; and his sister, Emily Thomas. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the First Assembly of God in Brookfield on Saturday, January 29th at 5:00pm. Burial will be held privately.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday afternoon between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00pm. Donations Information
