
Obituary of Linda Ann Sutton Burns
Linda Ann (Sutton) Burns, age 74, of Danbury passed away peacefully on Saturday July 22, 2023. She was the widow of Michael James Burns, Jr. the love of her life.
Linda graced this world with her presence on October 31, 1948 in Bridgeport, CT. She is the daughter of the late James Laurance Sutton, ‘Larry’ to friends, ‘Granddaddy’ to family, and Hazel Lucille (Henry) Sutton.
Linda retired from the Danbury Public Schools after 29 years where she served as an amazing paraprofessional for those she worked with. She made a difference in many students lives and built some of her greatest friendships with her coworkers. Linda was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield where she served as a council member. She was an avid reader and a crossword wiz. She and her fuzzy feline companion enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife that visited her bird baths and she never turned down a chance to hang with family and friends.
Linda is survived by her daughter: Dawn Lyn Eriquez and her husband Jay of Danbury, her son: Michael James Burns of Danbury, her sister: Sharon Anne Murre of Arizona, her 10 cherished grandchildren: Hunter, Raquel, Lina, Domenic, Annalise, Soli, Sarah, Ashley, Jessica, and Shawn, her 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her eldest son James John Burns.
Linda’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White St. Danbury on Monday July 31, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield. Burial will be in Saint Marys Cemetery in Bethel.
